M.R.V. Upgrades

Posted on March 21 2010 | No responses

Apparently we forgot to cover something in our meeting regarding the new MRV system.  MRV  being advertised  to existing customers as an upgrade. There is a possibility that we will end up with some of these jobs in our routes.  If you end up with an upgrade and the customer is requesting MRV please call Mark or Mike so we can transfer that job to a certified technician.

Spring is here!

With the arrival of the new season comes the re-appearance of bees, hornets and yellow jackets.  Keep an eye out for these guys while you are in the field.  They like to nest under eaves, inside pipes and gutters, under siding and, are often found inside the components of satellite antennas.  It may be a good idea to keep a can or two of wasp & hornet killer on your work rig throughout the spring and summer months.  It is relatively inexpensive and can be the difference between a completed a job or lost money and wasted time. Not to mention, getting stung is painful and many people are allergic to them.  If you are allergic to bees please make sure to let us know and make sure you have your emergency supplies handy in case you need them.

3/20/10 Meeting

Posted on March 20 2010 | No responses

Just to recap our meeting this morning (3/20/10)…

M.R.V.

Until all of our technicians are certified for M.R.V. (Multi Room Viewing) installs we will not be doing any new SWiM installs.  If a work order needs to be modified for a Hi-Definition system we need to try to have a standard KA/KU LNB added to the work order.  If a SWiM LNB is required for the install we must, unfortunately, have the local office re-assign that work order to an in-house technician.  We have been told that they will do their best to replace that job with another one for us but there are no guarantees that this will be possible, especially later in the day.  If there is a job that we can not do for these reasons you will need to call Mark or Mike to handle the transfer.

Additionally, we will not be issued any SWiM jobs classified as Former Install or Upgrade.  If you roll out to one of these jobs and it needs to be a SWiM you should have no problem modifying the work order for that.

Keep in mind that until we are all certified for M.R.V. we are going to see a lot of basic installs and upgrades.  Let’ s try to keep a positive attitude and get as many of these jobs completed as possible.  Every job counts and puts money in your pocket.

Modifying Work Orders

A work order can not be modified through the O.M.G. group after receivers have been activated on the account.  Work orders should be modified prior to doing any work at the customers residence.  In the event that a work order can not be modified through O.M.G. the local office may be able to help with the modification.  It is preferable to have the work order modified through O.M.G. though.

Hisperia

Hisperia (1-877-873-9358) should only be called to close out work orders.  For the time being you should continue to call C.C.T. (1-800-430-1250) to acknowledge routes, show on site, door tags, etc.. As a last resort the local office may be able to assist with these tasks.

Be Nice to the Dispatchers!

There isn’t much more to be said about this, just do it…
